Yalini Vigneswaran is an advanced minimally invasive gastrointestinal surgeon who specializes in esophageal and gastric disorders, including motility disorders, esophageal and gastroesophageal junction cancers, reflux disease, and paraesophageal hernias. She has clinical expertise in esophageal surgery, including minimally invasive esophagectomy for both benign and malignant disease. Additionally, she is experienced in bariatric surgery and performs various weight loss procedures.
Her work has been published in the Annals of Thoracic Surgery, Journal of the American College of Surgeons, Journal of Gastrointestinal Surgery, JAMA Surgery, and Surgical Endoscopy. She has been recognized by the Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons and Society for Biomaterials.
Vigneswaran holds an MD from Rush Medical College and an SM in public health sciences from the University of Chicago. She completed her general surgery residency at the University of Chicago and received additional surgical training with a fellowship in advanced minimally invasive and gastrointestinal surgery at Oregon Health & Science University.
