Walid Hussain is a neonatologist who provides medical care for complex, critically ill neonates in the neonatal intensive care unit. His scholarly interests include quality improvement, health economics, inhaled nitric oxide, and ventilation of premature newborns.
His work has been published in NeoReviews, INFORMS Journal on Computing, and Journal of Pediatric Pharmacology and Therapeutics.
Hussain earned a BA in economics with a minor in chemistry from Loyola University Chicago and received an MD from Creighton University. He completed a pediatrics residency at Children’s Mercy Kansas City, serving as chief resident. He then completed a neonatal-perinatal medicine fellowship at the University of Chicago. Most recently, he was an assistant professor of pediatrics at Loyola Medicine.
