Sajan Nagpal is interested in the study of diseases of the pancreas, such as acute and chronic pancreatitis, pancreatic cysts, and autoimmune pancreatitis, as well as the early detection of pancreatic cancer through identification of high-risk individuals. For his clinical and research work, he collaborates with the Center for Endoscopic Research and Therapeutics (CERT), radiology, basic science, pancreatic surgery, and islet autotransplantation teams at the University of Chicago Medicine.
Nagpal earned his MD from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences. He was a medical officer for the MOH Holdings in Singapore and a research trainee at Mayo Clinic before completing a residency at Cleveland Clinic and a fellowship at Mayo Clinic. He has published a number of high-impact manuscripts in internationally renowned journals in the field and received the young investigator award from both the American Pancreatic Association and the American Gastroenterology Association.
