Rajat Thawani

Rajat Thawani’s clinical work and research focus on lung cancer, especially understanding the biology of cancer cells and developing new drugs to help patients in clinical settings.

He serves on the editorial board of Current Problems in Cancer as commissioning editor. His work has been published in Endocrine Practice, Oncologist, Journal of the American Medical Association Oncology, CA: A Cancer Journal for Clinicians, BMC Medical Imaging, Thrombosis Research, Lung Cancer, The Lancet Digital Health, Clinical and Applied Thrombosis/Hemostasis, and Cureus.

Thawani completed medical school at the University College of Medical Sciences in Delhi, India, and his internship and residency in internal medicine at Maimonides Medical Center in New York. He received a certificate in human investigations from the Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU), where he also completed a fellowship in hematology and oncology at the Knight Cancer Institute.
