Rahaf Alkhateb is a pathologist board-certified in anatomic and clinical pathology whose field of expertise is transfusion medicine, including the care of patients who need plasma exchange, red cell exchange, and cellular therapy. Her research also extends to fields including surgical pathology and infectious disease.
Her work has been published in Archive of Clinical Cases, Tropical Medicine and Infectious Disease, American Journal of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene, American Surgeon, Archives of Pathology & Laboratory Medicine, and the Cureus Journal of Medical Science.
Alkhateb received her MD at the University of Aleppo in Syria, followed by an MSc at Memorial University of Newfoundland in Canada. She completed a residency in anatomic and clinical pathology and a fellowship in transfusion medicine at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, during which her focus was the utilization of blood group O positive whole blood for civilian trauma patients.
