Narutoshi Hibino is a surgeon with extensive experience in pediatric cardiac surgery who performs a wide range of complex procedures for patients with congenital heart disease. His philosophy of patient care is that providing an individualized care plan grounded in evidence-based research provides the best possible outcome.
Hibino focuses on translational research for patients with cardiovascular disease. His research uses a patient’s cells to grow vascular grafts and cardiac tissue applying a process of tissue engineering and three-dimensional printing. He has published more than 140 peer-reviewed research articles and spoken about cardiac surgery innovation at national and international conferences.
Hibino holds an MD from Ehime University School of Medicine and a PhD from Tokyo Women’s Medical University, both in Japan. He completed his postdoctoral research in tissue engineering at the Yale University School of Medicine and was a pediatric cardiac surgery fellow at Children’s National Medical Center in Washington, DC, and Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Ohio.
