Mubina Isani is a pediatric surgeon whose clinical interests include optimal treatment of neonatal surgical disease and intestinal failure. She has expertise in both open and minimally invasive surgical techniques and operating in the chest and abdomen.
Her research has been published in Journal of Trauma and Acute Care Surgery, American Journal of Surgery, Journal of Pediatric Surgery, PLOS One, and Surgery.
Isani graduated summa cum laude with a BA in biochemistry from the University of Mississippi, Oxford. She received her MD from the University of Mississippi, Jackson. She completed her general surgery residency training at the University of North Carolina and spent three years as a research fellow in pediatric surgery at the Saban Research Institute of Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, where she pursued basic science research in necrotizing enterocolitis and short bowel syndrome. She then completed a pediatric surgery fellowship at Nemours Children’s Hospital in Delaware.
