Mikin V. Patel’s clinical interests include interventional oncology, and treatment of liver tumors, deep vein thrombosis, benign prostatic hyperplasia, and uterine fibroids. His areas of research include health care quality improvement, comparative effectiveness, and operations management.
Patel’s research has been published in Abdominal Radiology, American Journal of Roentgenology, Current Problems in Diagnostic Radiology, Journal of Arthroplasty, World Journal of Emergency Surgery, Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology, Journal of Vascular and Interventional Radiology, and Lymphology. He has also contributed chapters to books, including Interventional and Endovascular Tips and Tricks of the Trade (Oxford University Press, 2018). He has presented his work at the Global Embolization Symposium and Technologies, Society of Interventional Radiology, International Symposium on Endovascular Therapy, American Roentgen Ray Society, Radiological Society of North America, and Cardiovascular and Interventional Radiological Society of Europe.
Patel received a BA from Cornell University, an MBA from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, and his medical degree from the University of Illinois Chicago. He completed his diagnostic radiology residency at the University of Chicago Medicine, followed by a fellowship in vascular and interventional radiology at Northwestern McGaw Medical Center. He was most recently an interventional radiologist in the Department of Radiology at Swedish Hospital in Chicago.
