Mary Kate Erdman

Department of Orthopaedic Surgery and Rehabilitation Medicine

Mary Kate Erdman is a fellowship-trained orthopaedic trauma surgeon. She specializes in the treatment of fractures in the upper extremity, lower extremity, and pelvis. She also has a special interest in “problem fractures,” including those that become infected, do not heal, or heal in the wrong place.

Her work has been published in Journal of Orthopaedic Trauma, Clinical Orthopaedics and Related Research, European Journal of Orthopaedic Surgery and Traumatology, and Journal of Surgical Education. She has also authored multiple book chapters and received grant funding for biomechanical analysis of pelvic fracture fixation.

Erdman earned a BS in mechanical engineering with a minor in bioengineering from Lafayette College in Pennsylvania. She received her medical degree from the University of South Florida Morsani College of Medicine. She completed an orthopaedic surgery residency at the University of Southern California and a fellowship in orthopaedic trauma surgery at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, Washington.
