Mark Belkin is an advanced heart failure, cardiac transplantation, and mechanical circulatory support physician within the Section of Cardiology. His research interests include cardiac hemodynamics, cardiogenic shock, and left ventricular assist devices that may help guide individualized treatment and help inform the prognosis for cardiac recovery.
Belkin’s work has been featured in Journal of the American Medical Association, Journal of Cardiac Failure, Circulation: Heart Failure, European Society of Cardiology: Heart Failure, Circulation: Arrhythmias & Electrophysiology, and Journal of Invasive Cardiology.
Belkin earned BA degrees in Jewish studies and neuroscience from Tulane University. He received his MD from Rush Medical College and completed his residency in internal medicine, as well as fellowships in cardiovascular diseases and advanced heart failure and transplant cardiology, at the University of Chicago.
