Marc Elias is a pediatric gastroenterologist who provides comprehensive digestive care to children of all ages. His primary focus is on treating pediatric patients with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). He also specializes in a wide range of common and complex pediatric gastroenterology conditions including abdominal pain, celiac disease, esophageal reflux, and eosinophilic esophagitis.
His research has appeared in the Journal of Biological Chemistry, Hepatology, and American Journal of Physiology–Gastrointestinal and Liver Physiology. In 2019 he received the American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases Foundation Fellow Research Award.
Elias holds an MD from Rush Medical College and a BA in biological sciences and psychology from Northwestern University. He completed a pediatrics residency at Rush University Medical Center, followed by a fellowship in gastroenterology, hepatology, and nutrition at Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago.
