Department of Pathology
Leon Su is a specialist in clinical pathology and blood banking/transfusion medicine. His interests include apheresis, cellular therapy, and blood utilization.
His research has appeared in journals including Cardiovascular Pathology, Transfusion, and Transfusion Medicine Reviews.
Su holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of California, San Diego, and medical degree from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine. He completed an internship in internal medicine at Yale New Haven Health’s Greenwich Hospital, residency training in pathology at the University of California, Los Angeles, and a fellowship in blood banking and transfusion medicine at Emory University. In addition to his current faculty appointment, Su is serving as the director of Transfusion Medicine and Apheresis at the University of Chicago Medicine.
