Laura Dickens specializes in endocrinology, diabetes, and metabolism, with a particular focus on women’s health throughout the lifespan. Her academic interests include osteoporosis, management of diabetes in pregnancy, and monogenic diabetes.
She has published review articles in the Journal of the American Medical Association and Current Diabetes Reports, and her research has been published in Acta Diabetologica. She was awarded the American Federation for Medical Research Henry Christian Award for her research in monogenic diabetes.
Dickens holds an MD from Emory University School of Medicine and a BA in neuroscience from the University of Virginia. She completed her residency in internal medicine at the University of Chicago, followed by an endocrinology fellowship in the University of Chicago Department of Medicine’s Section of Adult and Pediatric Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism.
