Jennifer Szafran

Jennifer Szafran is a pulmonologist and critical care physician who specializes in the care of critically ill patients in the medical intensive care unit. She plays an active role in the education of medical students, residents, fellows, and other health care providers.
Her scholarship focuses on curriculum development, with an emphasis on procedural training and interprofessional teams. Her work has been published in Medical Education Online and MedEdPORTAL.
Szafran earned a BA magna cum laude in neurobiology at Harvard College and a medical degree at the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine. She completed an internship, residency, and chief residency in internal medicine, as well as a fellowship in pulmonary and critical care, all at the University of Chicago.
