Iazsmin Bauer Ventura

Iazsmin Bauer Ventura is a rheumatologist with main interests in inflammatory myopathies, autoimmune lung diseases, and vasculitides. She is part of the multidisciplinary interstitial lung disease team focused on patient care and clinical research. She also provides expert care in inflammatory myopathies, in particular dermatomyositis, antisynthetase syndrome, and polymyositis, and collaborates with dermatologists and pathologists to achieve state-of-the-art medical care for people with these complex diseases.

As a clinical educator, Ventura is involved in the teaching of medical students, internal medicine residents, and rheumatology fellows. Her research has been published the Journal of Rheumatology, Respiratory Medicine, and Journal of Sleep Research.

She received an MD from the University of Brasilia School of Medicine in Brazil and a master’s degree in public health sciences from the University of Chicago, where she also completed an advanced rheumatology fellowship. During her internal medicine training in the Mount Sinai Health System in New York City, she was named best junior and senior resident in her class.
