Gorav Sharma

Gorav Sharma is a pulmonary, critical care, and sleep medicine physician with an interest in chronic respiratory failure in patients with neuromuscular disorders, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, obesity hypoventilation syndrome, and overlap syndromes. He co-directs the University of Chicago Medicine Advanced Respiratory Care program, a new initiative to provide inpatient and outpatient support, management, and treatment to patients with complex pulmonary and sleep disorders. He was also recently appointed associate program director for the UChicago Medicine Sleep Medicine Fellowship.

His work has been published in CHEST and BMC Infectious Diseases.

Sharma received a bachelor of science in neuroscience from the University of Michigan and a medical degree from New York Medical College. He completed residency training in internal medicine at Mount Sinai Beth Israel hospital in New York City, as well as a pulmonary and critical care fellowship at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit. He specialized in sleep medicine as a clinical fellow at the University of Chicago.
