
Elizabeth Zavala

Elizabeth Zavala is a geriatrician whose academic interests include the care of older adults with urinary incontinence, quality improvements, and initiatives that can make important and immediate impact on geriatric patients. She works with the Rush Graduate Health Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Community Network to mentor and educate trainees, and teaches medical students, residents, and fellows in the outpatient, inpatient, post-acute, and long-term care settings.
Zavala received BS degrees in biological sciences from the University of Illinois Chicago and in medical sciences from Dominican University. She received her medical degree from the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Chicago, where she completed her residency in family medicine. She completed a fellowship in the Department of Internal Medicine, Section of Geriatric Medicine, at Rush University Medical Center.
