Dennis Chen

Dennis Chen is a board-certified gastroenterologist who specializes in interventional endoscopy, which offers minimally invasive procedures for complex digestive diseases. He is expert in diagnosing and treating common conditions, as well as more complicated gastrointestinal problems, including biliary disease, pancreatic disease, gastrointestinal cancers, and Barrett’s esophagus. He performs endoscopic mucosal resection of large colon polyps and luminal stent placement (esophageal, duodenal, and colonic).

As a physician-scientist, he is active in researching endoscopic innovations and devices to improve care for his patients. He also serves as a member of the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy technology committee.

Chen received his MD from the School of Medicine at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, and completed a residency in internal medicine and a gastroenterology fellowship at the University of Michigan. He also completed an advanced endoscopy-gastroenterology fellowship at Northwestern Memorial Hospital.
