David Arnolds is interested in maternal safety, peripartum management of high-risk mothers, and postpartum hemorrhage (bleeding after delivery). He sits on the Illinois Maternal Mortality Review Committee.
His research has been published in Anesthesia & Analgesia and the Journal of Clinical Investigation. He was also a contributor to Pain Management: A Problem-Based Learning Approach (Oxford University, 2018).
After receiving a BA summa cum laude with highest honors in biology from Williams College, Arnolds worked in a research laboratory at the Joslin Diabetes Center, an affiliate of Harvard Medical School. He then earned an MD at the University of Chicago, where he also completed an anesthesiology residency and an obstetric anesthesia fellowship. In addition, he completed a PhD through the University of Chicago’s Committee on Genetics.
