Daniel Tobes

Daniel Tobes is an anesthesiologist with a particular specialization in obstetric anesthesia. He has specific interests in the treatment of complex obstetric patients (particularly those with cardiac disease and placenta accreta spectrum) and in teaching trainees how to care for these patients in the most empathic way possible.

He has contributed chapters to Basic Anesthesia Review (Oxford University Press). His work has also been published in Best Practice & Research: Clinical Anaesthesiology. Tobes has presented at the annual meetings of the American Society of Anesthesiologists and the Society for Obstetric Anesthesia and Perinatology, and at the Midwest Anesthesia Residents Conference.

He received a BA in chemistry from Kalamazoo College and a medical degree from the Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed a categorical residency in anesthesia at Beaumont Health in Royal Oak, Michigan, and a fellowship in obstetric anesthesia at Columbia University Irving Medical Center.
