Avner Strulov-Shlain’s research focuses on behavioral economics questions in the marketplace. He is interested in how market players, such as retailers or online platforms, interact with consumers who have psychological biases. He examines how companies should respond to these consumers and how they actually do so in practice.
Strulov-Shlain earned his PhD in economics from the University of California, Berkeley. His predoctoral studies include an MA in economics from Tel Aviv University and a BS in physics and mathematics from The Hebrew University of Jerusalem. Prior to his graduate studies, he served as a captain in the Israel Defense Forces, where he worked as head of section and analyst.
