Ann Nguyen specializes in advanced heart failure, transplantation, and mechanical circulatory support. Her academic interests include metabolic dysfunction that occurs as the heart fails, abnormal bleeding in patients with left ventricular assist devices, and alterations in the microbiome in patients with advanced heart failure.
Her research has been published in The Journal of Heart and Lung Transplantation, Journal of Cardiac Failure, and Journal of the American College of Cardiology: Heart Failure.
Nguyen received her MD from the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston. She completed an internal medicine residency at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, followed by fellowships in cardiovascular diseases and advanced heart failure/transplantation at the University of Chicago.
