Andrea Olivas is a board-certified pathologist who specializes in gastrointestinal pathology and cytopathology. Her research interests include neoplastic and medical diseases of the pancreaticobiliary and gastrointestinal tract, integrating morphologic and immunohistochemical features as they relate to disease etiology and molecular findings.
Her work has been published in American Journal of Surgical Pathology, Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, Acta Cytologica, and PLOS One.
Olivas graduated cum laude with a BS in neuroscience and a BA in Spanish, and then earned her MD from the University of California, San Francisco. She completed residency training in anatomic and clinical pathology at the University of Chicago, followed by fellowships in gastrointestinal/hepatic pathology and cytopathology.
