Allison Crawford focuses on reducing such chronic diseases as heart disease and diabetes through preventive medicine, nutrition, and lifestyle changes. Her clinical interests include nutrition, lipids, cardio-protective diets, and obesity.
Her research has been published in the Rhode Island Medical Journal and Circulation.
She received her MD from the University of Illinois College of Medicine and completed her residency training in internal medicine at Brown University. She then completed a postdoctoral clinical research fellowship at Columbia University, where she studied cardio-protective diets. She also earned a master’s degree in clinical epidemiology from the Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health. She is a professionally trained chef and graduate of the Natural Gourmet Institute of Culinary Education in New York City.
