Ali Mansour is a specialist in neurointensive care and a member of the multidisciplinary neurocritical care unit at the University of Chicago Medicine. His research interests include machine learning and computer vision in neuroimaging, intracranial pressure physiology, penetrating brain injury, brain death, and neuroprognostication.
Mansour earned his MD and his BA in biology from the American University of Beirut in Lebanon, after which he completed a three-year postdoctoral research fellowship in neuroscience at the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. There, he utilized advanced neuroimaging techniques, including functional magnetic resonance imaging and diffusion tensor imaging, to study neural networks. He then completed a residency in neurology and a fellowship in neurocritical care at the University of Chicago.
His research has been published in such journals as Brain, Nature Scientific Reports, Journal of Neuroscience, Pain, and PLOS Biology.
