Ajanta Patel is interested in using quality improvement and research methods, such as data extraction, predictive modeling, and analysis, to improve pediatric care services and increase value for patients, particularly children with respiratory conditions. Her scholarly work addresses hospital asthma care through standardization of asthma care guidelines and research into asthma risk assessment. In addition to her clinical and scholarly experience, she has contributed to student and resident education in pulmonology and quality.
Her research was recently published in Pediatric Annals and also appears in Clinical Pediatrics and The Lancet Respiratory Medicine.
Patel was awarded a BA in English from Amherst College and earned an MD and an MPH with a concentration in health policy from Emory University. She completed a residency in pediatrics and a fellowship in pediatric pulmonology at the University of Chicago.
