Allison Ostdiek’s research has involved the creation and characterization of de-cellularized porcine arterial tissue conjugated with gold nanoparticles for use as a cardiovascular repair material.
Her research has been published in the Journal of Biomedical Materials Research, Journal of Materials Science: Materials in Medicine, and Behavioral Ecology. She is also the lead author of an article that will be forthcoming in the International Journal of Nano and Biomaterials.
Ostdiek completed her undergraduate work in animal science at the University of Minnesota before receiving her doctor of veterinary medicine degree from the University of Illinois. She then joined the comparative medicine residency program at the University of Missouri. While there, she also pursued her PhD in veterinary pathobiology, with an emphasis on biomedical engineering.
