Priya Prakash

Priya Prakash specializes in trauma, critical care, and emergency surgery. She also performs general surgical procedures. She is active in patient care and research, and regularly volunteers on medical mission trips in developing nations. Her academic and research interests include trauma systems development and violence recovery programs.

She has received several awards for her work in sepsis and inflammation, including the New Investigator and Travel Awards at the Shock Society’s 35th Annual Conference. Prakash serves as an ad hoc reviewer for the European Journal of Trauma and Emergency Surgery and the Journal of the American College of Surgeons.

Prakash received her medical degree from the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine, where she also completed her residency. She completed a fellowship in surgical critical care and acute care surgery at the University of Pennsylvania.
