Osmanuddin Ahmed’s research interests include catheter-directed treatment for massive and submassive pulmonary embolism, endovascular treatments for acute and chronic deep vein thrombosis, inferior vena cava filter retrieval, central venous occlusion, cost accounting and analysis in interventional radiology, interventional oncology, uterine fibroid embolization, and pelvic venous congestion.
Ahmed holds a BA in economics from Northwestern University and an MD from the University of Illinois at Chicago. He completed his internship at NorthShore University HealthSystem and his residency in diagnostic radiology at the University of Chicago. He then completed a fellowship in vascular and interventional radiology at Stanford Hospital and Clinics.
