Krysta Wolfe specializes in pulmonary medicine within the Section of Pulmonary and Critical Care. Her academic interest is in critical care outcomes, and she has a particular interest in the treatment of shock and respiratory failure. Her research specifically focuses on the mechanism and effects of various medications used to treat shock, as well as improving the identification and characterization of septic shock. Her research has been published in Chest, Critical Care Medicine, the American Journal of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine, and JAMA: The Journal of the American Medical Association.

She holds an MD from Georgetown University School of Medicine and completed her residency in general internal medicine, as well as a pulmonary and critical care fellowship, at the University of Chicago.
