Chih-Yi Liao’s primary academic interest is in developing novel therapeutic strategies for patients with gastrointestinal cancers, focusing on cholangiocarcinoma and neuroendocrine cancers. As a clinical investigator, he is active in developing and conducting clinical trials, with a particular interest in targeted therapies for cholangiocarcinoma and immunotherapy strategies for advanced gastrointestinal cancers.
Liao received a BA in molecular and cell biology with a genetics emphasis from the University of California, Berkeley, and an MD from Vanderbilt University School of Medicine. He completed his residency in internal medicine at Rush University Medical Center, as well as a fellowship in hematology-oncology at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis.
