Carolyn Shima

Carolyn Shima’s clinical and research interests include community psychiatry, academic psychiatry, and forensic psychiatry. She works as an expert witness testifying in court cases at the intersection of psychiatry and the law. She also supervises the inpatient psychiatry service for second-year residents at the University of Chicago Medicine Ingalls Memorial Hospital.

Shima received an MD from Rush Medical College. She then completed her training in general psychiatry at the University of Chicago, as well as a fellowship in forensic psychiatry at Saint Louis University in Missouri.
