Monica Christmas

Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology

Monica Christmas practices in all areas of general gynecology, with special interests in the management of menopause, uterine fibroids, and abnormal uterine bleeding. She has extensive experience in benign gynecologic surgery, including robotic and laparoscopic techniques, hysterectomy, myomectomy, sterilization, and office-based procedures. She takes a holistic approach to patient care, exploring traditional and non-traditional treatment options, and is committed to providing thorough, high-quality, and compassionate gynecologic and obstetric care.

She is a member of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology and the North American Menopause Society (NAMS), and is a credentialed NAMS Certified Menopause Practitioner. She is developing a menopause curriculum for residents and students. Christmas will be responsible for clinical coverage of ambulatory and inpatient obstetrical and gynecologic patients. She will also be serving as an at-large member of the Faculty Practice Plan Board for the University of Chicago.

Christmas was previously affiliated with Little Company of Mary Hospital in Evergreen Park, Illinois, where, for the last 10 years, she was an attending physician in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. She received a BS in biological resources engineering from the University of Maryland, College Park, and an MD from Rush University Medical School, where she served as chief resident.
